Effects of exogenous sugar on rooting of poplar tube plantlets by air culture method

The percentage and quality of rooting are significantly improved when the tube plantlets are treated by exogenous sugar before rooting by air culture method．The results shoW that exogenous sugar treatment increased sugar，starch and protein contents in stem section，which guaranteed the carhohydrate supply and enzyme activity．
