Studies on the salt endurance of forage grasse

Experiments on salt tolerance of five herbage varieties were carried out at the experimental sites in the water-deficient salinized region of Heilonggang．The results showed that salttolerance of the five varieties at their early growgh period was at 0．3 to 0．4% of soil salt contents．and during their middle growth periods，salt-endurance Was increased to 0．5 to 0．7％．The five herbage varieties can grow very well in the salt-affeeted soils at the test sites．So it is suitable to grow those high salt-tolerant grasses in this region.
