Abstract: The connotation and implications of sustainable agriculture and rural development (SARD) aere discussed in the paper in combination with the local agricultural environmental conditions and problems,and the initial achievements from the pilot experiments.Those provided experiences and base for coordinated sustainable development of population,economy,society,resources and environment.
