Abstract:
As an important agroecological practitioner, the ecological farm is of great significance for promoting the development of ecological agriculture. Green manure, as a high-quality biological fertilizer source and organic fertilizer, plays an important role in the sustainable development and green transformation of agriculture. A comprehensive assessment of the benefits and the utilization patterns of green manure are crucial for promoting the use of green manure in ecological farms and enhancing production and ecological benefits. This study uses the literature review method to sort out the ecological benefits and planting patterns of green manure, proposes its application strategies in ecological farms, and combines case analysis of national - level ecological farm to explore good practice of green manure use and provide guidance for adoption. The research shows that returning green manure to the field can improve soil properties and enhance soil fertility but reduce soil moisture. Although the effects of green manure on the yield increase of subsequent crops vary, overall, it has increased the subsequent crop yield. Returning green manure to the field can promote the accumulation of soil organic matter, which is beneficial for carbon sequestration, but at the same time, it also increases greenhouse gas emissions. The main utilization patterns of green manure are rotation and intercropping, and they vary depending on the types of green manure and crops. Common intercropping patterns include intercropping wheat with green manure, intercropping corn with green manure, interplanting green manure in tea gardens, and intercropping green manure in orchards, etc. The rotation patterns mainly involve using the winter fallow fields to plant green manure and then planting the main crops after turning over and applying the green manure. Examples include the rotation pattern of green manure and single - cropping rice, green manure and double - cropping rice, and the rotation pattern of planting green manure in the summer fallow period for dry - land wheat, etc. When applying green manure in ecological farms, it is necessary to select varieties according to local conditions, reasonably arrange planting and management measures, and coordinate with other ecological measures. In the case study, through rationally planning the green manure rotation patterns in paddy fields and greenhouse sheds and scientifically selecting types of green manure, the Zhongde ecological farm not only enhanced soil fertility and improved soil structure but also took into account the protection of ecological landscapes and biodiversity. This study provides the research evidence and specific case study for promoting the integration of green manure into ecological farms, which promotes the adoption of green manure in ecological farms.
